SUNMING LIN

Prior to founding Rockpool Capital, Sunming served as the CIO for China Shipbuilding Capital Limited (CSCL), which is the offshore asset management company of the state owned enterprise, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation 中國船舶重工集團. While at CSCL, Sunming managed US$4bn of the company’s assets, deploying it across public market investments along with private transactions, most notably, Postal Savings Bank of China (1658 HK) and Everbright Securities (6178 HK). During his tenure, he also managed and worked with external investment managers in developing and executing investment strategies for CSCL. Before moving to CSCL, Sunming managed a team of bankers working to provide investment solutions to institutional clients and high net-worth individuals at Bank of Singapore, Citibank and HSBC Private Bank. Prior to joining the finance industry, Sunming was a practicing lawyer at Junhe Law Offices, Shanghai.

Sunming has a Bachelor of Philosophy and a Master of Law degree from Fudan University.

BENJAMIN WONG

Benjamin has over 13 years of experience in investment management and trading global equities. Prior to Rockpool Capital, he was the Asia Head of the High Net Worth team (HNW) at J.P. Morgan Private Bank where his team managed and advised ~US$3b in AUM. At the Private Bank, Benjamin also held client advisor positions and was Head of Cash Equities, advising corporate and family assets of several major listed companies. He joined J.P. Morgan’s Investment Bank in 2005 with Asia Principal Strategies trading global equities with a focus regionally. Benjamin helped manage the proprietary book with US$1.5bn in AUM across various strategies although focusing on Global Macro and Equity Long/Short.

Benjamin graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Commerce degree.

DANIEL YU

Daniel was formerly the Treasurer for Overseas Chinese Banking Corporation (OCBC) Hong Kong branch. As Treasurer, he oversaw asset liability management, sales and trading. He was a member of OCBC Hong Kong’s senior management team and a voting member of OCBC’s Hong Kong Asset and Liability Management Committee. Under his leadership, the investment book mandate increased to over US$1bn. Total branch banking and investment book assets exceeded US$8bn. Prior to being treasurer, Daniel was Head of Credit Trading in OCBC’s Singapore head office. He managed a US$1bn bond portfolio focused on Asia, CEEMEA and Latin America that invested in investment grade, bank capital and high yield bonds. Concurrently, he oversaw the local currency market-making business for Singapore dollar, CNH (“dim sum”), and Malaysia ringgit corporate bonds. In 2015, he also was assigned oversight over the equity trading desk. Before joining OCBC, Daniel was the Head of Asia High Yield Credit Trading at J.P. Morgan in Hong Kong (2005-2008). He has over 18 years of experience in the finance industry.

Daniel received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Health with a minor in Economics from Johns Hopkins University. He also completed the General Course at the London School of Economics and received a Certificate in Financial Engineering from Stanford University.

MAURICE KOO

Prior to Rockpool Capital, Maurice was a Vice-President at J.P.Morgan Private Bank within the investment team. He advised and managed over US$1bn in client assets focusing on equities, fixed income and alternative assets covering clients from China, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.
Before joining J.P.Morgan, Maurice was a Director within a Hong Kong multi-family office managing discretionary investment mandates for clients. He also sourced and negotiated off-market investment opportunities within the venture capital and global real estate sectors. Prior to moving to Asia in 2004, Maurice worked in real estate finance, covering New York and other major metropolitan areas of the US Eastern seaboard. Maurice also has experience investing in and advising start-ups across a wide range of sectors.

Maurice graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with degrees in Economics and International Relations.

ANDREW MAK

Andrew spent over 5 years with J.P.Morgan Private Bank on the investment team covering accounts across Hong Kong, Philippines and China. He advised and traded on equities, fixed income, FX, hedge fund and private equity investments with a book size of over US$600m. Prior to J.P.Morgan, Andrew was a management associate with Standard Chartered Bank’s credit risk management team and coordinated SME Banking projects in conjunction with the Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation.

Andrew is also a Director of Apex Insurance (Holdings) Ltd, responsible for the group’s overall management and investment strategy. He is licensed to handle all classes of non-life and general insurance programs and is also a regulated Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer.

Andrew received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

SHEILA CHOW

Sheila spent 4 years at J.P.Morgan Private Bank within the client service team, responsible for managing the administration and servicing of client accounts. She covered clients from Hong Kong, the Philippines and Thailand, providing personalized services including transaction processing, execution of cash products, assisting clients on cash flow management, account monitoring and fiduciary service support. Prior to J.P.Morgan, Sheila was at Merrill Lynch, where she was responsible for accounts, executing trade orders, portfolio reviews and marketing presentations.

Sheila graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
